I think you're right jno. I seem to remember at the time of the marriage it was reported that her children would inherit, not him. But I doubt he'll be a pauper.

He signed a pre-nup before the wedding so he agreed he would get nothing in the event of her death. Her children have inherited the lot.

I think mikey owes Alfonso Diez an apology. He made the Duchess's final years very happy.

Inheritance laws are not the same everywhere, in some countries the kids get everything by law. I expect the widower gets to stay in the several palaces until he dies.
