digital camera- not downloading photos

i made the fatal mistake of connecting digital camera before installing drivers/software -i got a general error message that the device might not work- i have done 3 installs /reinstalls and everything is installed and the camera is recognised but when i click to download photos - nothing , not even a error message, i have even disabled my av and firewall but nothing- and i have tried rebooting the camera and exiting /reopening the software but nothing i have not added any new hardware/software- and i have installed this digital camera before and it worked perfectly well - so it is completely illogical as to why it doesn't work now-please help!

It would be helpful if you mentioned your operating system!
If it's XP, have you tried returning to a restore point prior to when you plugged in the camera?

Also, if you mentioned the make and model of camera, you might find someone who has solved this problem in the past

windows xp and the camera is concorde eye -Q -go havent tried restore point as yet
