Having cropped a picture and made the object stand alone by blocking out the background, I have forgotten how to make the white square (in which the object appears) become tranparent. I have found `transparency' listed in the programme, saying that not all topics are covered! Not very helpful. Can anyone assist me please? Thank you.

I've actually found lots of sites on Google and managed to make the background transparent using Word (having saved the picture as a GIF and not JPEG. However I cannot import the picture into my Print Artist programme - it's all very frustrating.

I'v now solved the problem. In Microsoft Picture It, crop an object by marking all round and then using the cutting tool. Open a new blank file, put in a background, then press edit and paste. Lo and behold, your cropped object comes onto the background WITH NO WHITE SQUARE ROUND IT - brilliant. The whole thing can then be saved as a JPEG.
