It screws into a standard tap connector.

Find the main stop-cock into the house (maybe under kitchen sink) and give it a half turn clockwise, see if it sorts the hammer, turn a bit more and so on. If the water stops flowing, you've turned it too far and this is not the answer, turn it fully back on and buy what TheBuilder suggests !
