Will deportation be automatic/an option once they've completed their sentences?

Whether or not it will happen is another matter, and probably for the Judge to decide whether or not to include a deportation order in the sentence. And then, yes, they'd have the right to appeal, although as deportations to Poland have happened, there is no reason to assume that such an appeal would be successful.
Better to let the process continue. At least they pleaded guilty.
