Thought I'd make an early start on Christmas and got all of the Advent Calendar Bag of Doom goodies today (all from Asda online) and got two fab deals on Amazon - easy peasy this Christmas lark, will have it all sorted by the weekend :)

The bag of doom is a huge bag with 24 wrapped 'gifts' (it's just sweets, etc - the same as they would usually get after tea). They take it in turns to pick one out, it's called the bag of doom because some 'gifts' are a bit rubbish compared to others. I started it last year as it is cheaper than the Lego/Play Mobil advent calendars (as I buy them sweets for after tea anyway). Christmas Eve they get a 'gift' with biscuits, sweets, popcorn, Pringles, coke, etc

I used to do an advent calendar, but two years ago I totted the cost up and I had spent around £120 on it. I also do a huge stocking that daughter SIL and five grandchildren get a pressie. This is on top of main presents. So I decided to stop the calendar. Daughter used to do one for us as well so I told her to stop also. I think she was relieved as it got a bit difficult finding 12 things for me and 12 things for OH.
