Can anyone tell me why Dot Cotton is in a wheelchair as I think that I may have missed an episode. Has it got something to do with Joe and Bert?

She tripped over the hall rug when fleeing from Bert who was hiding behind the kitchen door. He and Joe had broken into the house to fit the new shower - they had been asked to fit the shower as a surprise but Jim gave them the wrong door key. She came in b4 they had a chance to get out.
