A Q earlier made me think, what if we just narrowed it down to Christmas.
Do you like full on Schmaltz, a bit of comedy, pathos or a weepie?
I know most seem to combine all of those, but hey-ho (or ho ho ho), it's just a bit of fun and may give us all some Ideas to shut the bleedin' relatives up for a bit.

My favourites, the most favourite at the top and then the order I remember them:

Elf
Gremlins
Miracle on 34th Street (Dickie Attenborough version)
It's a Wonderful Life
The Santa Clause
Nativity
Life of Brian

I want films about Christmas, not films they show at Christmas. I will blow a raspberry at the first person to mention the Sound of Music.

Thanks Boo, I'll check it out.
I like raspberries, so I am going to say The Sound of Music.

No, I like It's A Wonderful Life.
I like Home Alone. I know it's been done to death but I just like that house and the baddies.
Life of Brian, at any time of the year, is one of my favourites. He's not The Messiah, he's a very naughty boy .
Froggy, I must the only person on the planet who has NEVER seen the Sound of Music, or a James Bond film. I don't ever intend for that to change.... ever!
Don't give me a raspberry because it's very Christmassy - Die Hard!
The man who came to dinner. It's a b/w comedy from the 40s
Got to be 'The Man in the Santa Claus Suit' with Fred Astaire, and it's not a film, but my favourite Christmas production of all time is 'Scrooge' with Tony Newley, Jon Pertwee and Stratford Johns, all sadly no longer with us.

Falling in
Whoops, don't know what happened there -Falling in Love, Robert de Niro and Meryl Streep. (Christmas does come into it)
A Christmas Carol, any except the old black and white one and National Lampoon's Christmas, the one with Chevvy Chase.
Ive never seen any of your films that you have listed FrogNog. We always make sure the television is turned off at Christmas and we usually get the family together and play cards., just fun cards like Newmarket, Cheat, etc.
