Why does Ant and Dec's watches sometimes have black covers on them?

Think it's to do with continuity,ie they'll shoot several bits then mash 'em together, if you see their watches it'll be out of sequence.

If that's the case, B00, then they should wear hunter-style pocket watches and then continuity wouldn't be a problem:)

Slightly off topic, but some watch and clock hobbyists study old movies searching for the makes and models of watches and clocks. I find myself, as a bit of a horologist (nice word for this early in the morning::) paying attention to them especially in old B/W movies.

However, I still have no idea who Ant and Dec are. I'm thinking that they must be two characters on a TV show over there.

It's purely to hide the time from the contestants. "ANT and Dec have to cover up their watches every day so the celebrities do not know what time it is and are disorientated."

Then why wear them? It's akin to carrying a flashlight/torch with no batteries:)

Stuey: It's to annoy the contestants. I wonder how many of them get annoyed because they can see a watch but can't see the time. I've never and never will watch I'm a Celebrity so I wouldn't know.

stuey: or carrying a torch that works perfectly but not using it even when you can't see 2" in front of you - for the same reason I guess.

stuey: from what I gather it's a load of celebs and unknown randomers who after going on the show get celeb status. They have to survive in the jungle eating delicacies. Like I said I don't watch it.
