Distance Selling Regulations
4 Answers
I bought and paid for something online on 13th October. I was eventually given a delivery date but as the item would have been quite heavy I contacted the seller to advise I would not be actually opening the parcel for a couple of weeks till my husband was home. The seller offered to hang on to the item, which I agreed to. I subsequently got back in touch asking for delivery by a specific date and then the whole thing descended into chaos. The seller claimed to have problems with the courier service and said that once he received the item back from the courier he would deliver it to me himself, but this has not happened. I have had to chase him constantly and all I get is empty promises.
Today I told him by text that I needed a delivery date. When I didn't get a reply I rang and left a message but he has not replied. I have given him more than enough chances to sort this out but he hasn't, so I now need to take matters further. Has anyone been in a similar situation and what do you reckon is the best way to tackle this? Thanks a lot.

Irrespective of that fact, I would send a letter by recorded delivery, advising the seller that if you don't receive the goods (or a full refund) within [say] 7 days, you will commence legal action. If you don't get anywhere, start your claim here:
