My brother and I were waiting for a taxi in Castle St in Belfast many years ago. A drunk man staggered up and asked for a Springmartin cab. That told everybody there that he was a Protestant and in the wrong area. Somebody said the next one would do him.
My brother and I took him by the arms and walked him back into the centre of the town and pointed him towards the Protestant black taxis.
I like to think he got home safely.
