19a tae kwon do (anagram)
17d sweeping?
Tae Kwon do
Sweeping is right.
19a Tae Kwon Do - anag 'wood taken'

17d Sweeping - double meaning
Question Author
Thank you both - I was researching the Korean War, like an idiot.

So 17d - "Searching for blanket (8)" is not "covering". If "sweeping" I assume that it means blanket as in coverage - not sure about that. A few creaky clues this week?

Yes - to sweep an area - to search it.

Sweeping also means widespread/blanket.
Question Author
Thanks to all again - "blanket coverage" is what I meant but didn't make clear.
