I don't know what your budget is but it might be worth looking into a Voice Activated system for controlling more than just the lamps.

jennyjoan: OK. However the costs of stamps are nothing to do with donations or money for BDRR. Not to mention the stamps are my own anyway, so is the paper and card used to make the Christmas cards. The offer is still open should you change your mind :)

However, Conne.....try having a look at the Age Concern website....they often have aids to help the elderly or infirm....x
