Which herb flavours tomato sauce on pizza? Is it Basil or Oregano.

You can use Basil or mixed herbs as well but in Italy "they use'a the Oregano!"

There isn't really a straight answer to this it seems. I personally use oregano but it's down to how you want it and your tastes.

Personally I prefer basil, but I have eaten pizza with oregano too.

I'd use both or either. They both go well with tomatoes,with oregano the stronger flavoured of the two.

When I make a tomato sauce for homemade pizza, I use dried oregano in it. Then, fresh basil on the top.
