Last night quiz answers were being read out. One question was - "in which country did poinsettas originate?"
The answer is Mexico.
A woman shouted out "will you accept Spain as the correct answer?"
Do you think her knowledge of geography is lacking?

Mrs O...I am not at all surprised !

I remember a Saturday Lotto program, a few years ago, where the question was "What is the capital of Paris ? "

There were 3 possible answer, and 2 of them were not Paris, but the woman replied..." Well, Geography is not my specialist subject Dale ! " and it went downhill from there.

The BBC must put adverts in newsagents windows, asking for "Thick People needed to apply for Prime Time TV program"
And the other famous one Who was shot in Dallas in November 1963 - long pause - I' m not sure, oh yes I know JR. (pointless)

Our local paper once ran a competition where they gave the answer in the question.
The question was "in which year in 1974 did so and so football team win so and so trophy?"
There were more wrong answers sent in than right answers!

Depending on the date..........Franc or Euro??!!
I think the 'wrong' answers are often more entertaining than the correct ones. No matter which quiz night you go to there's always someone who's totally clueless.

I think her knowledge of Poinsettas is what's lacking!

Mikey @ 0710; so What is the capital of Paris ?
As SirOracle mentioned, it used to be the Frank and now it is the Euro. Sort of like "What is a name for old Italian bread?": Lira.
Confused as normal, but I expect you all knew what I meant !
To be frank, I meant franc:)
