Recovering Old Emails From Hotmail

I have just switched to a new laptop. I have managed to access my Hotmail account but when I try and recover old emails from my files I get a message saying "No messages from the last two weeks". Does anyone know how I can get the older emails back? Many Thanks

They may actually be on the old computer - they were when I sorted a friends computer.
They were using Live Mail - when I had them running a temporary reinstall of windows They accessed their mail via the web, and thats when we discovered their missing mail.
After resetting to factory settingss, I reinstalled their mail fom computer backup.
