Going through my ancient address book today, making sure I hadn't left anyone off my card list, I was upset to see a heck of a lot of the names in there had been crossed through, and annotated RIP.
Makes you wonder if it's your turn next.

Ferlew, Yes it is sad, but if you thought your time was up every morning it would get you down. See the joy your friends gave you when they were here and smile when you see their name in your book, even if the RIP annotation is there xx

I got a new address book a couple of years back,started to write in pencil -partly because of house moves and partly the reason you quote.

It is very sad ferlew, as this morning I wrote cards out and couldnt write one for my much loved Niece who passed away 3 months ago? Was gutted.

I suppose it's just going through from A to Z sort of underlines it a bit, plus the fact of course that my addy book is some 40 odd years old.
My brother moves house so often, he has the "O" section to himself. :)

Yes,it's quite sad,but I remember the good times we had with them,and have a wee laugh at things they said or did,and who knows? We could meet again

Well, I have spent the evening ringing and chatting with folks I haven't talked to in a while. (old colleagues and family etc)
It was fabulous, so some good came of it.
