My son has a Mgzr 1.8 vvc 51 plate and wants to remove the cat as he thinks it's shot .
Now anyone have any tips on this one I've done the cat I'm my mazda but all cars have there little quirks .

Just be aware that the presence of a cat is an MoT requirement nowadays.

Yes you can replace a cat converter but not remove it, you can 'trade in' the old one against a replacement.
