So-called sham marriages take place in the UK on a regular basis so that one of the partners can remain in the UK. Here we have a fellow of dual Irish/British nationality, living in Spain (all 3 countries in the EU) and he cannot bring his wife to see her British relatives-by-marriage in the UK. I think the EuropeanCourt is right!
I cannot see why this is a problem? Why do we want to restrict a mother (or a father) from seeing children in the first place?
The family can take up residence anywhere they want in the EU, hence this British man lives in Spain. If her family are in the UK, why does she need a VISA to see them?
I can't see why the restriction is in place and what its purpose is. Or why it so upsets the right whingers.
Why is this judgement so bad?
