running two internets from one phone line
My boyfriend has a laptop and uses AOL broadband. I am getting my own laptop and want to know if I can run another internet provider or even another AOL account on my laptop from the same phone line.
I don't want us to share his AOL coz I need my own separate one.

If your boyfriend uses a wireless router you could connect to that in order to access the net, but it would still be using his AOL account.
If he uses a modem then you would have to use the same modem or setup internet connection sharing on his laptop in order for you both to be on-line at the same time.
It may be possible to have a seperate AOL account for you to use, however you won't both be able to use the internet at the same time.
Hope this helps.

Is your reluctance to use his AOL account because you don't want to be able to go and read his emails or have access to some "members only" AOL info?
If so, he can change providers (probably free of charge) and use an ISP that doesn't instantly log you in to their members only bit.
would using an internet cafe untill you have your own place/pad be sensible? then you can get your own internet conection installed/sorted.
if you need an email address(right now) of your own you could do it from his account but remember he will be able to see/access it if he's any good with p.c.'s. once you get your own internet connection (it comes with an email address) tell everyone your new email address.
