I thought that was what the civil service were for. Spin doctors' wages shouldn't come out of tax-payers' money, imo.
I believe the 'bonfire of the quangos' has 'gone out' too.

All government ministers have civil-service advisors. In fact we are really ruled by the permanent civil-service - good! They understand our society more than most of our political "representatives".
So any politician should pay for SPADs from their own banks, not ours. Spin-doctoring should be illegal due to their apparently usurping the public's views by influencing our "representatives" views which is absolutely and solely our job in an alleged democracy?
