I need to repair a broken ornament to be set back into my fish tank. The ornament is made of resin, and I have been advised not to use superglue since this could be toxic to the fish tank environment and then to the fish. Is this right? What should I use? I've been told of 'aquatic silicon'. Would this suffice? Where would I get it? The young lad I spoke to at Petsathome this afternoon didn't seem to know what I was talking about!

yes aquatic silicone is the stuff.

You have to let the sealant "cure" before refilling with water.
Notice I said "cure" not "set". Even aquatic sealants are toxic until
they have fully cured... usually six weeks.

Utter utter rubbish, Mastercraft. Perfectly safe to use aquarium grade silicon. The reason you can't use any old silicon is that domestic ones often use mould inhibitors, and that's poisonous.

I've use aquarium silicon and had fish in the tank within 2 hours.

Most decent aquarium shops should sell it....it isn't cheap though.
