I can hear you screeching away, gness. Shush now, my ears have sinusitus ;)
gness sorry about your sad news. I also had sad news about a friend today.

Don't get drawn in gness, if you get my drift.
Sympathy to you Gness about your friend and best wishes too in regard of the other bad news.
Okay, Tambo.....the kids upstairs have asked me to shut up too.... :-(

Thank you, Mamya and Fusion...and I do get your drift.....xx
Who cares about matching plates anyway? They'll all be covered in food so nobody will EVER notice.
you can't have xmas dinner on paper plates - the gravy makes them soggy
I think we appreciate what we have got when a tragedy like this happens. There but for the Grace of God and all that. I daresay Anne's relative ought very differently about her 'problem' when she heard the news. Maybe we all do that at some point.
Practical solution to the plate problem....
Use four plates of one design and four of another if you have them. That way no one is odd man out. Sorted. :)

We all sweat the small stuff, I do, sometimes it's an outlet when it's the far bigger things are actually bothering us.
I absolutely agree with that, Robinia.

You deal with the big things but it can be something very minor that sends you over the edge.
+1 for that from me also.
Tragedies like yesterday's in Glasgow certainly do put things in perspective. However, sadly it is usually short-lived and we return to being irked by the small things that we have hence foresworn to remain unbothered by.

I wonder how long we'll have to wait for the first post-St. Georges Square 'Grrrrrr' or 'Rant' post on Answerbank.....?
