izzy had hopes of getting back with him as they were really getting on but she saw him with alya and realised he was not going back to happy families owen was furious the way his daughter was treated ,also alyas dad sacked gary and gave his job to owen .

Roy has been terrorised by a bunch of yobs for several months now and when he heard someone downstairs in the café it pushed him over the limit.
Earlier in the day one of the yobs taunted him about breaking into his flat and said something nasty about Hayley.

So when he heard someone downstairs in the café he wrongly thought they were back and so Gary suffered the brunt of his pent up fear and anger.
