Do we have to look in a mirror to clean our teeth? Do we not know where our mouth is?

Caran: I think it's only a minority of people who stand facing a mirror whilst brushing their teeth. Most of the time it's because the tooth brush and tooth paste is kept in the bathroom or en-suite which both usually have mirrors above the sink. You have to look forward so you are bound to look at yourself. Simples.

Sorry I have not yet come across the russian fraternity.
Hi again, Caran.

Every night (any time from around now to about 5am) loads of posts appear on AB (usually in 'Business & Finance') in Russian. (Occasionally the question titles are in English, presumably so that they don't stand out so easily to the site moderators). Every post contains at least one link (and sometimes dozens) to commercial websites.

That spammer isn't trying to get anyone to click on the links. He simply knows that, if lots of links to the same website appear on the internet, Google's system will assume that it's a genuinely popular site and push that website higher up the list of results when someone searches for the the product or service offered on that site.

It's called 'search engine optimisation' (SEO). We also get loads of ads for a UK-based fitted kitchen company supplied by an SEO firm in the Phillipines.

Craft and I (together with roughly 15 other site moderators, most of whom prefer to remain anonymous) do our best to get rid of such posts!

Thank you Chris for the explaination.
Damn mods are worse than spammers!

Only kidding ;o)
Is right Buenchico
>>>I have not yet come across the russian fraternity

That's probably because the moderators try to zap them as soon as their posts are seen in 'Latest Posts'. They're often only around for only a few seconds!

Good on you Chris then.
You could at least have waited till I got to the price before zapping it☺
Naughty naughty :-)

Who knows
Not necessarily, and certainly not if they're false.
Surely, Methyl, the only 'definitive' answer must be "No". While many people might choose to look in a mirror, I doubt that'd be able to prove that it's a necessary requirement.

The difference between 'have to' and 'choose to' is a bit like the difference between 'can' and 'may'. I get exasperated by signs (such as those in Sainsbury's restaurants) which state "Only food purchased here can be eaten in this restaurant". I want to know what physical law prevents it!!!!

Gotta go now folks, thanks for your input!
G'night, Caran!
...and it's "спокойной ночи" from me.

P.S. not Spam☺
I've never looked in a mirror to brush my teeth. After all these years, I know where my teeth are.
Its like some people like to comb their hair before answering the phone. I dont do it but i know people who do.
