How has his family coped financially since his detainment and where do they come from?

Not sure where his family came from. I know he was wanted in his own country(Saudi) on terrorism charges when he washed up in Londonistan. Presumably at the behest of the Labour Government who thought (wrongly, as it turned out) that by offering sanctuary to the world's terrorists they would leave us in peace.
Then moved his family to Taliban controlled Afghanistan to ply his trade where he was apprehended by the American army during the war. Now he's claiming to be British,,,,,,,,,,,again.

Would you not think they would have found some evidence in the thirteen years he has been in gaol/detention if there were any?

I believe they have lots of evidence. Just not the sort they want aired in an open court. (or can't air, or possibly wouldn't stand up in open court.) You'd have to ask the Americans.
