Mcafee Anti-Virus - Is It Still Free?

My McAfee Anti-Virus seems to have expired; there's no sign of it on my computer. Maybe it's there and I just have to re-new it, I don't really know.

I've never had to pay for McAfee, but having Googled it, there now seems to be a £19.00 fee. I really don't know, I'm hopeless at computer maintenance and the local college refuses to offer courses on such matters.

So, is there a free version of McAfee and how do I find it and install it?

I don't think it has ever been free.

You sometimes get a free period with a new computer, and are then asked to pay at the end of the free trial.

Yes, back about 1600 yesterday, came to a standstill 3 times on M11 traffic incidents not snow, but no real problems.

Since Intel bought it has changed the name to divorce itself from McAfee because of his dealings with the law. You would be better off downloading and using AVAST ANTIVIRUS FREE which is one of the best antivirus around .If you do make sure you only tick the free version.
