You know if you want to take an animal (dog ) abroad you can get some kind of sleeping pill so they won't know what's happening . My sister as had her dog chipped and it is ready to go abroad but she thinks the dog will be under a lot of stress because she as 7 hour flight to dubai .Any suggestions ?

Don't do anything without a vets advice. Dogs react differently to sedatives especially one called ACP which can have very bad effects on some dogs, even inducing fits. Perhaps a homeopathic remedy might be of use, try googling for homeopathic dog remedies.

Provided the dog has had sufficient exercise before the flight it should be ok - after all, seven hours is only the same as a nights sleep.

I am happy to stand corrected but I'm pretty sure you are not allowed to dope / sedate dogs when travelling on a plane.

Something to do with not being able to monitor them properly (there's always a risk with sedatives)

Please don't sedate your animal, it makes it very difficult to tell if there are any problems with her. If she's not herself, allowing for minor stress reactions, at the other end of your trip, you'll know there's perhaps a problem - if you dope her you will not know how she's doing. You will probably be more stressed than her!
