Of course we don't know the whole story but it all seems rather harsh to me - I think Derbyshire Social Services have a lot to answer for in all this. She obviously loves her granddaughter.

Perhaps she was upset because she missed her? If I was taken away from my family in care and not allowed to see anyone, then a relative made a 400 mile journey down to see me and was put into a Police cell -well I may 'kick off' myself. Perhaps her behaviour was due to frustration and resentment of Social Services. The decisive point here, before making conclusive judgement, is to find out what initiated the Court Order in the first place.
It was only the DM that reported it in that way. Instead of headlining with 'Grandmother arrested for breaching court order multiple times' they stated it was because she hugged her granddaughter. Very emotive and untrue. She'd have been arrested even if she had not hugged her and simply met her.
Then she has the cheek to state she wants compensation.
