I have 5 vegetarians coming for dinner soon. What can I feed them for a main course other than the usual curry or chilli? I'm not confident in doing a pasta dish like spaghetti - bit too many guests. Any impressive mains out there I can rustle up at all? I am quite a confident cook by the way (other than the spaghetti part!)

Risotto. A mushroom or asparagus one . I'm a veggie and I love that as do most veggies and non veggies. I hate chilli, not too keen on pasta either so a risotto is always a good choice. A vegetable casserole I also lovely at this time of year. If you can be bothered, try a mushroom Kiev. I'd go with a risotto though.
p.s if you do do a risotto, can I come along too?
Good luck with your dinner party xx

Mushroom Kiev with lots of nice oozy garlic butter ... mmm, lovely. xx
It's made with mushrooms, onions, carrots, red peppers, petit pois, sweetcorn, rice, cumin, filled with garlic sauce, seasoning. Other things and flavours can be added if wished.

Do you have a recipe link Janbee at all please?
No, sorry Jayne , I don't.
Stick with a veggie curry and maybe a lentil dahl and some samosas - better to cook something that you know you can do rather than trying out a new recipe.
Here's a good link Jayne - there is a section on dinner parties which looks yummy:
