Cold/flu- Teeth Hurting?

I've had a cold/flu (ish) symptoms for the past couple of weeks now, which is bearable just, however I seem to have developed a further weird symptom.

Is it possible for your upper jaw to ache, especially at night when trying to sleep with a cold?

I genuinely don't think I have issues with the teeth themselves, it feels more like my jaws, and really ruddy hurts and wakes me up often during the night.

Any help appreciated.

Yes, this is quite possible as the apices of the upper teeth can lie in close proximity to the maxillary air sinuses.

However, only a dental examination could exclude a dental cause.

More than usual due to a sore throat ummmm, as it is ive just finished off a Beechams Blackurrenty powder thingy- which was lovely by the way!

i was only at the dentist in December, so unless it's something catastrophic dental wise I don't believe it's down to my teeth.

When I had pain in my upper jaw I got an emergency dental appointment. He diagnosed a sinus infection and prescribed antibiotics.
I got the appointment with the dentist within an hour or so of telephoning , much quicker than I could ever have got one with my GP.
Just a suggestion.....

Ta for the link Sibs, but it doesn't sound exactly like my symptoms. I don't get an initial shooting pain, it's a dull ache, that gets steadily worse as the evening comes and is ruddy 'orrible by the time im trying to sleep. I can only assume the act of actually laying down is making the problem worse.

I did suggest trying to fall asleep sitting up tonight, but Mr Boo looked at like id lost my marbles, so perhaps I won't try that one!

I nearly always get upper jaw and teeth dull ache with a cold as it always affects my sinuses rather than goes to my chest. Some people find sudafed helps, I don't it as it makes me feel 'wired' and hyper.

Stay clear of Sufafed, the insomnia is a side effect of that medication, good old IBU, some lemon sips and tea are good - and if you have some old-fashioned eucalyptus oil, boiling water into it and you take in the steam under a towel, a very good way of helping to alleviate it.

IBU = Sqad's stuff, Ibuprofen - and a few wee nips of a good Scotch.

slept better last night after dosing myself up on Beechams flu tabs, flu powder drink and Sqad's trusty Ibuprofen.

Before I got any real flu symptoms last week I had jaw ache, which led to ear ache and then the flu bug bit me!
