Everybody Move , It's The Nhs !
5 Answers
I was recently in hospital and was moved 20 miles away to another hospital ,with other patients on alternate weekends, because the registrar was shared between the two hospitals. So when he moved so did his patients.
Four days later , we patients were sent back to the first hospital into different beds and different wards.
Apart from the transportation and shift disruption there were problems with the paper work being in the wrong place and information was not being easily exchanged.

The bottom line is : anything run by the state is grossly inefficient . The whole ethos of the NHS is great in theory but a disaster in practice.
I saw whole wards where the plumbing and electrics were faulty and where the whole maintenance department were IMO incompetent. I speak as an engineer .
However it's not fair to blame any particular aspect , the whole edifice of state control is inherently weak from the executives to the support staff . In fact the latter are IMO doing a good job under the circumstances.

safe sex : Much better thanks than when I first entered hospital 4 months ago . Then they sent me home after 4 days with a packet of pills. Since then I have been discharged several times but each time was back in within 24 hours and subsequently underwent 6 ( what they called procedures ) on and resulting from related heart problems .
It's a long wearisome saga and not unusual as highlighted on the TV news.
