Has any ABer had a silent call from the number.?

A friend of my wife is continually getting such calls and is becoming frightened by them.

I have telephoned the number a few times, but halfway through dialling I am told that the number is Not recognised.

A search of the Internet suggests that it is a Call Centre in India that is endeavouring to get folk to complete a Survey with a view to their changing Gas and/or Electricity Suppliers.

Consequently, I would welcome folks comments on the issue concerned.

There is usually a few seconds silence if its from an Indian call centre.

I wouldnt bother trying to phone that number, you wont get any sense from them, and tell your friend not to worry, thousands of people get them.

If calls become Harassing, intimidating, threating, make a note of the times / dates / Day's / amount of calls, I would call at your local police station & make a complaint, make a note of it.

Yes, I've had calls from them. They are a set of ***** in Maidstone. I leave the answering machine on at all times so they just hang up. Very annoying though.

Not Maidstone, I'm afraid - that is 01622.
This is 001622...... is a number that originated in the USA and hence can't be stopped by the TPS.

If the recipient of these calls has caller ID, just put the number into the electronic phone book as 'Ignore'.

Thanks to all who contributed to this thread.

My wife's friend appears to be a lot happier in the knowledge that she is Not alone as regards silent calls from the telephone number concerned.
