Can swap it for Telegraph Road, Dire Straits, that I have had since New Years Eve!
Ewww.. I hate that term "Earworm" as it makes my ears itchy and I have to go and then start checking with an earbud and mirror especially after reading this the other day

http://www.opposingviews.com/i/society/man-finds-dead-moth-inside-childrens-cadbury-chocolate-bar-photos

good grief, I read that as dead mother inside chocolate bar.

Best way to get rid of an earworm is to play something you like better, several times.

Tried that. jno. Played my entire Queen, Meatloaf and Beautiful South collection on a loop but everytime there is silence:

It happened to ME, it could happen to YOU da da da la da

I am not trying Telegraph Road on repeat
I believe you have to hum the Pink Panther theme to get rid of an earworm, or aneurhythm.
Allow me.

I'll swop you for some tinitus.
feel sorry for me - I have a high pitched tinnitus whistle AND an offensive nasty earworm - the Horst Wessel Lied - Nazi marching song

Don't know where I got it, but had it for 10 years.

I'd do anything for peace & quiet - any ideas?

Yes, I have white noise generator - some help sometimes
It's pretty grim isn't it venator,no matter what you do it never goes away, still at least I haven't to the earworm yet

Good grief, Venator, I do feel for you. I have low level tinnitus that I can just about cope with and I'm hoping it doesn't get worse. Hope you find some peace.

I'll try the pink panther tomorrow if Dire Straits doesn't do it for me

Thanks Paddywhack - the tinnitus I can live with, but the b****y marching song is bad - the rhythm is about the same as my normal heartbeat.

I thought of putting a link to it, but it's evil music - I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
Thanks - I've got the pink panther now on headphones - giving it a try...
Paddywhack - what does your tinnitus sound like? There was a website with sample noises - some were intermittent drilling noises - drive you mad - at least my whistling is constant
My husband played Feliz Navidad again and again and agin on Chritmas day. Drove us all crazy and it will live on forever as my parrot now whistles it constantly.
I watched "Brief Encounter" over Xmas and now I can't get Rach 2 out of my head !
Mines the "humming" type, venator.I've had it for that long I seem to be able to tune it out for a while, then just when you are beginning to forget about it,it's back again seeming to be twice as lound and annoying as before.I think I've tried everything but nothing's worked I just have to live with it.
I've had the Muppet Show music going round and round in my head for the last few days and it's really annoying!
na na na na na naa ne na na, etc!
:)

Oh Ed,that brought back memories - my brother once barricaded his bedroom door and played 'Popcorn' the original for 7 hours solid.

I prefer the techno versions.
