Seperately Purchased Vehicle Warranties
I'm thinking of buying a second hand car in the price range £1,250-£1,750. Would I be able to buy one of these 'warranties' for a car in this price range and likely age. Also, generaly speaking, what views do people have on them? Are they worth it?

At that sort of price you drive it until something major go's wrong , then sell it for scrap and start again. You will get £150 to £250 as scrap. If it lasts a year you have done well.
I drove for 35 years and never paid more than £300 for a car ,some were free.
Look for someone you know is selling their old car, that was how I got nearly all of mine. One of my best buys was a Ford Scorpio from the next door but one neighbour for £25, it had £40 worth of petrol in it and I found a wine voucher worth £25 in the boot. It ran for 9 months before the engine management computer failed in a supermarket car park. I phoned the nearest scrap yard who came and picked it up and gave me £150 for the scrap value , they gave me a lift home as well!
