One day while working at the Guinness brewery in Dublin, Paddy fell into a vat of Guinness and drowned.
The company asked his best mate & co-worker Sean, to break the sad news to his wife.
Sean called around at Paddy’s house, and gave his wife the bad news. Although deeply upset, she asked Sean whether her husband had suffered a long and traumatic drowning, or had it been over quickly – with Paddy suffering little or not at all?
Sean, having observed his best mate’s demise, told her the truth – that it was not over quickly and that Paddy had managed to get out of the vat of Guinness three times to relieve himself before he finally drowned.
