Daughter spilt tea on her laptop last week, it worked for a little while then made a funny electrical sound and refused to switch off. She let the battery drain but now it's refusing to switch on or charge up. Is there any point in getting it looked at? I don't want to be paying someone £70 odd to tell me it's knackered, I'd rather put that money towards a new one.
My son did the same, and unfortunately the thing couldn't be revived. She could try taking the battery out and drying everything as much as poss but it may be too late already. Is there anyone who'll look at it for nothing or a nominal amount to check if more can be done?
Thanks all, I think it's dead, I was away when she did it so could help out immediately. I don't know anyone that will look at it for a couple of quid unfortunately (if only).
Hopkirk, I haven't got accidental damage on my insurance.
There's one here in my town and he wasn't open yesterday, in fact I'm not sure I can remember when I've ever seen him open. I might put a notice out on the Local FB site to see if anyone does it from home.
