Ebay Listing Fees Credit Not Refundable

In a nutshell...
I had an item listed on Ebay, the buyer defaulted on the purchase, Ebay agreed the buyer was at fault and credited the listing fees to the Ebay account.
However Ebay say that these fees can ONLY be used to list another item, or other Ebay costs.
Is this true?
I'm not planning on listing anything on Ebay in the near future so they are sitting on my funds.
What (if any) are my rights to demand a settlement cheque / bank transfer?

I have had similar refunds. As I do list often havent really wanted to see the cash so to speak. It must be a lot of money if you need it now by cheque or bank transfer. I imagine they keep it within your account with them as it would be too complex to actually refund money in every case. You will have to take it up with them if it is a lot and you want it now.

So what happened to the item you did not get paid for? Did you not re list it? The average cost to list an item is 15p are you talking about the 10% final value fee? If its the final value fee I can see no reason why they can't credit your PayPal account -that's what they normally do for me and I have on average about 3 non payers a month.

Listing fees tend to be small amounts ...ebay make the big bucks on their final value share.
I would personally be glad that you got the credit refund sorted and move onto the next sale. Or if not, transfer all your funds out of Paypal and put it down to experience.

yes Final Value fees are always refunded back into your Paypal account.
