Or will those who (like Rupert Murdoch) think that all Muslims are responsible for the attack continue to believe so?

What on Earth was Ahmed Merabet doing working as a policeman, protecting the French day to day?

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/the-first-man-killed-in-charlie-hebdo-attacks-was-muslim-police-officer-ahmed-merabet-9964283.html

And why on Earth would Lassana Bathily hide Jewish supermarket shoppers, risking his own life?

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/paris-shootings-muslim-man-hailed-a-hero-for-hiding-hostages-in-jewish-supermarkets-walkin-refrigerator-9970045.html

Is it possible that this is a truer picture of ordinary Muslims than the current narrative leads us to believe?

I'm not saying that these two men are remarkable - indeed, since the stories have been all over the news, they've not been mentioned once on AB (to my knowledge)...

Well, I mentioned the policeman being a Moslem, the police woman at Montrouge being from Martinique (not Moslem but of "immigrant stock") and the fact that one of the Charlie H journos was Algerian.

Murdoch's comments are a disgrace. Will The Times have the courage to distance itself from them?
So, my answers to your questions in order:
Not many, probably, his job, (rhetorical question I assume), yes definitely

I'll sit back now and take my ringside seat, bulletproof jacket donned :-)
On another site I have applauded the Muslim policeman and I saw ichkeria's link, but the threads did not really lend themselves to going in that direction. The policemen were featured in the Telegraph which I got today.
Who takes any notice of Murdoch or buys from his empire?
It's ironic (not sure that is the right word) that one of the first people the terrorists killed was "one of their own" - I don't expect they ever considered that in their advance planning. From the statements in the press from Muslim organisations, they are as much against these atrocities as the rest of us. Yet again, the actions of a few extremists are blackenng the name of the orderly majority.
boxtops, they wouldn't regard the policeman as one of their own - he was supporting the West.
I've never knowingly accepted Rupert Murdoch's opinion for anything; I won't be starting now.

You're absolutely right.
J K Rowling’s response is far too simplistic as are the responses here. There is something in what he said. Change can only really come from within, and until such time as Muslims stand, en masse, in defiance of people like Anjem Choudary, who elects himself to speak for Islam, the radicals will continue to wreak havoc in the world and nothing will change.

Niemöller’s words spring to mind.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
