When I try to put a shortcut on my desktop (Last 3 weeks) it appears there but when I click on it I get the messaage "Unable to open this Internet Shortcut. The protocol "https" doesn't have a registered program.
Can anyone help?

I assume that you're using Internet Explorer. If so, open it and click on the Tools button (in the top right hand corner), then select Internet Options. Select the Programs tab. Put a tick next to Make Internet Explorer the Default Browser. Click OK. Better still, install Firefox (which is vastly superior to Internet Explorer):...

It sounds as if a setting is missing so it relates https to your internet browser.
