What D'yer Think Is The Worst Technological Invention?

In my humble opinion it's the computer chip - by an extremely long way on so many levels.
Certainly it's brought advantages but it's brought a hellova lot more problems. To name but a few - the LIBOR scandal and the myriad of other financial manipulations, Cyber-war and -terrorism, it's destroying social interaction. Years ago strict restrictions prevented the under-age from entering betting shops, now anyone can bet even on a bus journey.
No longer do child molesters et al act independently, they connect on-line and grow stronger from their pooling of ideas.
There's so many examples of its evil influence it'd rival 'War and Peace' to give give just a flavour of its effects.
What do you think?

What about computer chips in medical equipment? Just one example that far outweighs the 'disadvantages' in my opinion.

Hiya TTG. Definitely, but as iaid I my question not everything the computer chip has brought is negative, far from it, it's just that at least from now onwards in a greater acceleration its power will be put to more selfish, greedy and dubious uses. Your assertion that it's brought great benefits to the health service is balanced out by there being problems associated with that at the GP surgeries and A&E, pension payments have to be higher, we're working longer. We survived quite adequately for 5,000 years before the chip rose its ugly head; I'm sure we could've staggered through a few more.
