What few teeth I have left are rotten and ought to be removed and replaced by prostheses. Anyone any idea of the cost if I choose to go private?

In England close to £2000 per tooth. Try eastern Europe,
Or the Balkan states.
I share your pain.
Get used to taking protein via a straw.
Cheapest option.
Just don't smile at anyone, you may scare them ;-)
Oops, this wasn't chatterbank.
My apologies.

You're kidding me. that equates to £64 000, taking into account the roots of dead teeth in my gob. How much is the return fare to Latvia?
Not much to Latvia. When I was looking at the teeth implants Hungary was the preferred (offered it cheap) option. DYOR, Blackadder.

Wan't thinking of implants, just gnashers which can lie in a glass overnight.
My local (private) dentist referred me to his partner in Harley Street(!) and I got an estimate of £17000 (which I couldn't afford at the time). That was for five implants and some reconstructive stuff..
Gnashers? Not trying to pull the girls ten?

You move in exalted circles. We're talking poverty level here.
Blackadder, we're all brothers hers. Innit.
How coarse and politically incorrect of me (in my last post) to exclude: sisters, cross-dressers and raving poof**s.
LOL, and I was thinking this was a serious discussion.
Hence I bowed out.

If you go for dental implants you can expect to pay approx. £2000 per tooth depending on which part of the country you are. It's not a cheap thing to do but if you can afford it, it looks VERY good.
If you're talking poverty level blackadder, why reject the NHS option?
Why not just a set of false teeth? My partners uncle has false teeth and I didn't have a clue until he took them out one day, they looked real to me.
The fee is £219 for an NHS set (excluding the glass)

dentures are the NHS option. Implants are expensive, as mentioned. They're cheaper abroad and said to be good; but you'd need to factor in the cost of two or three visits (at least) per implant session, with flights and hotels as needed.
