Please help me to understand the different darts tournaments. I just know the three recent ones as Maidenhead, Ally Pally and Lakeside.

Which one of these is the most coveted trophy and why?

Darts in UK used to be run totally by BDO (British Darts Organisation). A few years ago a lot of the professional players didn't think BDO was doing enough for the professional game and broke away to form the PDC (Professional Darts Corporation). There are Tournaments where the BDO and PDC chuckers compete side by side - The Grand Slam of Darts. for example.

BDO darts is a joke, top players regularly scoring ridiculously low scores for a World Championship Tournament.

They'd struggle to win a prize at a funfair.

Dont watch either but i believe Phil 'The Power' Taylor was in the BDO tourney on BBC tele. Puts his 20 world championships in proportion. the commentators did not even mention there is another outfit that Phil would struggle to compete in.
