time share
has anyone had any dealings with the time share resort of 'Columns Golf Park, Algarve, Portugal.
We bought a weeks time share there a few years ago only to discover now that the premises is completely shut down and boarded up and not available for us to take any holidays there. Any info would be welcome.

Don't know how to find them but there is a Timeshare Council which oversee these problems try Google. Wish we'd never bought the bloody thing (19 years later). Ok if you want to go back same time, same place every year but if not we don't rate it.
Hiya, I used to work for the management office of a timeshare company and with some of the things i saw go on regarding sales/contracts i would certainly never recommend purchasing one. Probably best you try the ote website www.ote-info.com organisation for timeshare in europe they have lots of good advice on there for timeshare owners and a section as to what to do if things go wrong etc. best of luck with it.
A far better website for finding out about dodgy dealings with timeshare is here http://www.crimeshare.net/
Just go to the site and search on the name of your resort. The Organisation of Timeshare in Europe (OTE) is run by the industry. Turkeys voting for Christmas springs to mind.
