Both officers firing, and one officer is Black as I understand from the tv news

The deceased has previous for shooting troopers but it appears did not have a weapon.

I believe a gun was seen in the vehicle and as I said before if there was one gun there could possibly be others.. If the deceased is going to leave the car contrary to instruction and has previous for shooting a police officer why should the police officers not assume the person may have violent intent especially as his track record is known. The US police are not in the business of target practice for law breakers.

///In the footage, taken from the police dashcam, the officer, who is BLACK, also appears to reach into the car and remove what appears to be a handgun.///

Yet mikey asks @ 1510

//When are these stupid WHITE American Policemen going to realise that when you are in a hole, its best to stop digging.//
Shoot first and ask questions later then Retrocop ? The cowboy firms were all made a long time ago...this isn't a Clint Eastwood film-script.

//In the latest shooting incident, officer Days is black while his partner is white.
Both Mr Reid and the driver of the car, Leroy Tutt, are black.//
"Shoot first and ask questions later then Retrocop ? The cowboy firms were all made a long time ago...this isn't a Clint Eastwood film-script. "

the whole concept and reason as to whats happened here is obviously way outside your comprehension....why am I not surprised ?
No Mikey. Wrong again. You challenge and tell persons repeatedly "not to grab for it" i.e. The gun THAT WAS in the car. When suspect makes unexpected exit suddenly when told to stay put he is lethally stopped. It is called self preservation and Defence and yes the questions wil be asked later in a coroners court. I think your life expectancy as a U.S. law enforcement officer would be zero. Come to that with your apparent contempt and attitude towards police in general you would be best advised to keep clear of the U.S. As you admit to being a dreadful driver just be lucky that South Wales Traffic Officers are not routinely armed or you would soon be spitting out lead!!!
As it was you mikey who facetiously brought up the subject of Clint Eastwood film scripts have you watched his latest film entitled 'American Sniper'? A true account of a sniper called Chris Kyle.He shot without asking questions but verified that the shot was justified from the evidence he saw through his scope.Something you cannot condemn from your armchair without seeing the evidence live and being there!
