Is There A Shortage Of Puy Lentils?

For ages, I haven't found any in any shops.

The production of Puy lentils is always subject to adverse weather conditions around Le Puy en Velay (because they can't come from anywhere else), so supplies fluctuate. However the Waitrose website is showing both the Merchant Gourmet brand and their own brand as available for delivery orders, so it seems likely that they've got them in their stores.

Cheers. Ah because they are peppery and stay firm.
I like lentils, they were not the sort of thing my parents had as a staple but I tried them and liked them later in life. But I've never thought to check if one type is better than another. Lentils are good in soups. Probably better if they don't stay in shape then.
