Managed to get out yesterday after a bit of snow shovelling and gritting, I have a 4x4 and can get up to the drive to the badly cleared road, then have to negotiate loads of cars parked haphazardly all over the local roads and drivers reluctant to give way. Sometimes it's simpler to just not bother making the effort.
gnees, my mum was always brilliant on a sewing machine, not hand work like you, but it's a great skill to have. I have a sewing machine I use for repairs. It's a shame really I haven't learnt to follow a pattern, I tried with mum years ago. I really could do with joining a needlework class. Apparently, courses in needlework are much back in fashion after programmes such as 'Sewing Bee'
Jordy, I read your thread. Got to say, it is frustrating when you have to repeat yourself over & over & the phone bill is clocking up, unless the line was a free?
gness, my mum had a Singer treadle, I seem to remember my dad made a stand for it. Yep, sewing classes according to my local paper have massive intakes!
My day, been up since 4.00am .. been to work. Got an email off a relative who after my parents, she's unaware my dad died in July last year. So, I set about constructing a reply back, awkward upsetting thing to do. Been to mums with some shopping & to eep her company while brother went for hospital appointment. Now home, not tired strangely? Stuffing my face with snacks, can't seem to stop eating .. it's so cold!!! I'll blame it on the cold!
Is it a very old friend chaptaz? Yes it's great when it's someone who knows the 'real' you & you them, you can just be yourself & talk about everything!! :0)
