As she was not an MP (she had failed to be elected when she stood as Conservative candidate for Dewsbury in Yorkshire) she had to be appointed as a Life Peer in order to take up the post. She took the title of "Baroness Warsi of Dewsbury" thus demonstrating the iniquity of appointing someone to the Lords in order to take up a Ministerial post (the good people of Dewsbury declined to have her as their MP so they got her as their Lord).

Lady Warsi is not above suspicion when it comes to some values (Islamic and other). But I have little interest in the inconsequential matter of her personal life or her motives in making the quoted statement. In fact I haven't bothered to read it. May I invite serious (i.e. non-Warsi) answers to the central question: what are the causes of Islamic extremism, and how do we combat it?
