Am currently reading a Nadine Dorries book, the name of which escapes me, it follows on from a previous one of hers. I'm quite impressed by her as I was expecting it to be a bit like all the other books about poor folk in Liverpool, Newcastle, London, etc., but there's more substance to it.
It's making a nice change from the rather gruesome detective books I've been reading lately, although I'm looking forward to getting back to a bit of blood and gore :)
Meant to say, Kate, the death of bees was a kindle daily deal a little while ago, for 99p, and I'm kicking myself now that I didn't get it. I think because it was a young adult type book it put me off.
Question Author
the death of bees author, comes from my home town,i liked her first one better 'behind closed doors.'
her uncle was my brothers best pal,and also married my sister in law.
I am working my way through the P G Wodehouse canon, and am thoroughly enjoying them. Also I am re-reading all my A J Cronins !
The Little Kabul Coffee Shop, or some such title. Very enjoyable and quite an accurate account of the expat community in the city.

A Peter Robinson crime novel, had Abbatoir in the title. Not bad but definitely feel he's running thin on the inspiration front.

Next book will be Khaled Hosseini's latest or a Scandi novelist who writes whimsical books, the one I have lined up is something about a girl who saves the King of Sweden
The Knot by Mark Watson
The Mist in the Mirror by Susan Hill

The Miniaturist is top of my 'to read' list.
Just had a look at Behind Closed Doors, liked the look of it and downloaded it to my kindle for £2....thanks for the recommendation Kate.
Question Author

I've just opened my daily BookBub email and downloaded one of their suggestions for 99p...On The Inside...which says its recommended for anyone who enjoyed Orange is the New Black. I've not seen/read that but have had it recommended to me.
Anyone have any comments about either?
