Mamya: For us it works. If you injure yourself badly and someone is crying with laughter you switch off from the pain and either laugh yourself or just hurl abuse at the person laughing. Either way it works. The problem with my step dad is that he doesn't see it like that - he just gets angry. It doesn't stop us from laughing though.
We do the same when something is too heavy that we can't drop or put down. I've been half way up a flight of stairs with my mum holding a cabinet and we'd just start laughing when it'd get too heavy. I'd always be the one to say something extremely funny like "Oh yeah this was a good idea, trying to get a 2 metre wide cabinet up a 1.5 metre staircase" and at that she'd just start going, and buckling at the knees. It made doing horrible stuff interesting.
